3 Breakthroughs

This picture is called "Grace" and was created by Sarah in Photoshop.

Today was so much fun, and it's not even over yet. First, we've created a name for part of what we're doing with Switch It On -- it's performance accupressure. Another breakthrough that's part of that is that after using the tapping for years and teaching it as the main path to emotional/mental reprogramming, we've realized that it can only be a part of the system for change in order to make it permanent. Although it's a great relief to no longer feel those deep, scary, angry feelings about the specific issues we've used EFT for, the real, permanent change comes when you can't think the same way about the memories as you used to. We use inquiry for that, and anyone can do this by asking "Can I really know that it's true?" when you think the thoughts that make you nuts. By asking and then waiting for the answer from the inside, often the answer will be No. Then, knowing how that thought makes you feel, see how it makes you react, then turn it around and see if the opposite thought could be as true or truer. This gets to be fun, when you learn that it's okay to question your thoughts and they lose their power over you. When you only have one attitude because this thought seems so real, then it's really hard to make any lasting changes about that issue. See Byron Katie's website, www.thework.com and her blog, too.

The other 2 breakthroughs I had were in running. First, I ran using the Chi Running method and found it easier and more beneficial than ever. The other thing I did was run for 10 minutes, walked then ran 5 more minutes uphill! Their motto is "effortless running", where form comes first. You can find them on the internet with some really helpful articles. I have lots of practice using my "center" or core or whatever you want to call it, and running this way is priceless.

Just wanted to share some more resources for happy living!
Love you all,
Renae

Who do I want to Be?

The Law of Attraction and Deliberate Creation has given us a lot of good things to think about and practice, like "it is good to feel good" and "like attracts like", so think and visualize and focus on what you like. These things seem kind of DUH, but to actually live them has been a challenge. It's a good thing we have been so into practicing this stuff that it has gotten easier and easier to think this way.

The one thing that I have discovered that has not been so helpful is the whole "what is it that I really want?" question and then doing whatever it takes to get that. When I kept asking that question, I tended to make myself wrong in the Now, because I was not living what I'd already decided I wanted. This also tends to make me fearful of not "learning the lesson" that keeps me where I don't want to be.

What I've found particularly helpful is the understanding that we live in a loving universe. Everything, always, whatever it is, is based on love. And not the judgmental, manipulative, needy love that has been typical of stories and religion, but the unlimited, open, kind, accepting love that is Real. Another thing that has been really helpful is Robert G Smith's concept that nothing is wrong inside me, I'm not broken, I've just learned to do some things really well that don't serve me, and once I figure out how I'm doing that inside myself, I can release the trigger and stop it. Awesome, powerful, and very simple!

That's all for now. Love you all, love me all, and embracing all,

Renae

Switch It On

The picture's not me and Thomas, but it was close. I'm visualizing running on the beach. Does that count?

Switch It On! That's what we're calling the program we use to switch from learned states of helplessness and fear and anxiety and hurt to new states that feel better. When you're hurting or afraid, even a neutral feeling is better than that. Once you practice letting yourself feel better, then you can reach for even better feeling places.

Last month when I got the idea to start running and it kept showing up in different places, I first got some books from the library to see what good things others had to say about it. Then I asked myself what thoughts I had about running that might keep me from wanting to do it. When I told Andries that my main thought about running was how much pain people went through and the injuries that they talked about as if they were just part of the deal, he told me that he never thinks about running that way. His thought is that it just makes you stronger and better. So I started tapping on those thoughts about hurting myself, and I found a program called Couch to 5K. Before I ran, I would tap, and if I started having some unusual minor discomfort, I would tap. Then I would tap afterwards for the soreness that I expected but didn't want. The possibilities are endless, but I will say that now I think of myself as a runner and that I will be able to run for the rest of my life. Now that's a switch for me!

Gotta do it! (or not)

I've been researching and reading some blogs, and I've realized that sometimes we start doing things, like blogging or running or eating certain foods, and our initial inspiration to do this and the great feeling of doing it creates a link in our mind between action and the resulting feeling.

I was inspired about a month ago to begin running, so I did. And the feeling of power and centeredness and accomplishment has been awesome. I even created a log to keep track of all the times and what I did and where I was. And from the beginning, I began by asking my body, "Do you want to run more? Do we need to stop now?" Most of the time, my body wanted to keep going for a bit. And all of a sudden, I would know to Stop Now. That communication and connection has been really enjoyable.

Then a few days ago, my body wanted to rest. It didn't want to run, and I debated whether to go ahead and try anyway. There are still those thoughts rattling around about "no pain, no gain" and persistence is the key to success. I walked, but didn't run, then yesterday I wanted to run more than ever, even in the rain, and I was amazed that I ran farther and better than I've run ever before!

The lesson for me here is that I began associating the running with the good feeling, when it was actually Going with the Flow that made it right and powerful. We do the same thing with blogging sometimes, thinking we have to post every few days whether we're inspired or not. How about Not! doing it when it doesn't feel like inspiration? How about not eating when we're not hungry? How about doing more listening and less forced action to be what and how we want to be?

I love the Life that flows through my life, and I trust that I can't miss anything that is mine. Action is not automatically productive and stillness is not automatically peace. The feeling is everything!

Hi you,

Well, it's January 3, and new vibrations are bouncing around the planet. How's your's bouncing? It has been a most pleasant holiday for all of us...myself, Renae, Andrea, Sarah, and Thomas (our sweet German Shepherd).

How about beginning this new year by lining up---lining up---lining up? Today I was feeling a little bit unlined (is that a word?), and sitting in our van outside the Library, I snapped to the ongoing solution.

It just seemed too simple at first, but with a teeny bit of jumping up and down on it I realized that it was absolutely right on! Okay, okay, it is simplistic but IT WORKS! Focus on the joy places in your life, in your body, in your mind in your spirit---feel that joy, reach for it always, experience the joyful things in your experience, and focus on having even more joy-=--THEN guess what happens.

All that good stuff you have been creating through your desires begin pouring out to you, and they pour out abundantly.

You don't have to wait. Get your show on the road. How can you lose anything by being Joyful? If you call me or see me, please look at me through joyful eyes. If you comment, please use joyful words, and feelings, and let me know how you are doing.

Lotsa love, Andries

Hi all,

I've been spending a lotta time watching Robt. G. Smith's Faster EFT, and I thought I would share some of the short insights he mentions on a few of the videos:

1. Perception produces feelings in the body
2. Diabetes...tap on whatever stresses can be addressed
3. Build emotional muscle.
4. Finances, relationships, jobs, weight are not problems...they are symptoms.
5. Memories buried alive never die. The mind creates the feelings---the feelings are not what is controlling you, it's the memories and it's expressions that control you.
6. A negative trigger is a gift--it points the way to release another resistance, so you can allow more joy and love.

There's lots more, but I will let it go for now. More later.

If this is stuff you can resonate with, and would like more, just let me know.

Lotsa love from Andries

Peace Is, Joy Is, Wellbeing Is

Written on Christmas Eve, 1513

I salute you. I am your friend, and my love for you goes deep.
There is nothing I can give you which you have not. But there is much, very much, that, while I cannot give it, you can take. No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in it today.
Take heaven!
No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present little instant. Take peace!
The gloom of the world is but a shadow. Behind it, yet within our reach, is joy. There is radiance and glory in darkness, could we but see. And to see, we have only to look. I beseech you to look!Life is so generous a giver. But we, judging its gifts by their covering, cast them away as ugly or heavy or hard. Remove the covering, and you will find beneath it a living splendor, woven of love by wisdom, with power.
Welcome it, grasp it, and you touch the angel's hand that brings it to you.
Everything we call a trial, a sorrow or a duty, believe me, that angel's hand is there.
The gift is there and the wonder of an overshadowing presence. Your joys, too, be not content with them as joys. They, too, conceal diviner gifts.Life is so full of meaning and purpose, so full of beauty beneath its covering, that you will find earth but cloaks your heaven. Courage then to claim it; that is all!
But courage you have, and the knowledge that we are pilgrims together, wending through unknown country home. And so, at this time, I greet you, not quite as the world sends greetings, but with profound esteem and with the prayer that for you, now and forever, the day breaks and shadows flee away.
